Services for Employers
Sorting It Out can save you time and money by taking an informal approach to dispute resolution which empowers everyone involved. Going down a more formal, and costly, legal route takes control of solutions away from you and your employees and often becomes a stressful and negative experience for all involved.
Early involvement of Sorting It Out enables a problem to be assessed and advice given about the best way of proceeding. In many cases resolution by mediation, which focuses on direct communication between the parties, can be attempted and lead to savings of time and money. If resolution can be achieved by mediation confidentially can be maintained for all parties as opposed to ending up before the Employment Relations Authority or the Employment Court when disputes become a matter of public record.
If investigation is required Sorting It Out will give employers the information they require to either make their own decision, or proceed down a legal path, in a less costly manner than using lawyers to complete this process.

impartial investigation
Employment Investigation is a service specifically for employers. Employers, when a complaint is made about workplace bullying, harassment or discrimination an investigation should be done as soon as possible and should be based on natural justice principles of fairness and good faith. The investigation should be undertaken by an independent, unbiased and experienced investigator such as Bronwyn of Sorting It Out.
As investigator Bronwyn interviews all parties involved, any witnesses, and reviews relevant documentation to establish the facts. She makes a determination based on the balance of probability after considering the facts. Bronwyn then provides a written report on her findings and makes recommendations to you, the employer.

mediation + facilitation
Mediation is a service for both employers and employees. The thought of having to deal with concerns or issues directly with your employee, colleague or manager may seem daunting but mediation is a good way of doing this especially if you need to continue working together. Mediation involves people with issues talking to each other about them with the help of an impartial person; the mediator.
As mediator, Bronwyn facilitates communications and enables parties (the people with concerns) to explore the issues in dispute and reach a resolution that is acceptable to each party on some or all of the issues. Sharing information during mediation can be a good way of rebuilding trust and relationships especially as no judgements are made about who is right and who is wrong.
